GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS 2020 SUPPORTED AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL!
Overview:
In March 2020, UPSIGN (UK-Pakistan Science and Innovation Global Network) collaborated with UKRI (UK Research and Innovation), facilitated by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), to host the first ever Global Development Workshops series in Islamabad.

Over 150 academics from the UK, Pakistan and South Asia congregated to form consortia to address global development challenges in Pakistan and the region. 14 consortia were
successfully developed and established.
UPSIGN team were afforded a personal audience with Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan; and a Presidential dinner was laid on for all the workshop attendees in the presence of Christian Turner (United Kingdom High Commissioner in Pakistan) and the President of Pakistan.
